The Northern Ontario Tourism Summit kicked off in Sault Ste. Marie on Tuesday, with up to 300 attendees expected through Thursday. The opening presentation by Indigenous Tourism Ontario aimed to build understanding of Indigenous peoples, culture and history. Officials note tourism brings roughly $175 million in visitor spending to the community and that 91% of tourism spending stays in the region. Cory Nordstrom reports.
