Critical minerals talks spark renewed push to twin northern highways
Northern Ontario leaders are renewing their push to twin Highways 11 and 17 as critical minerals dominate Canada-EU trade talks. Federation of Northern Ontario Municipalities President Dave Plourde says the highways were built for 1950s traffic levels and the region has long outgrown them. He wants both upper levels of government to sit down and come up with a plan, adding municipalities will not take no for an answer.
