The Salvation Army in Sault Ste. Marie has received more than a million pounds of food through a partnership with local Metro and Food Basics stores. Metro's One More Bite program is believed to have provided 500,000 meals in the five years since the partnership began. The charity marked the milestone with a community barbecue.
