Agnico Eagle says a small crack in a tailings discharge pipeline at its Detour Lake mine spilled process slurry into nearby Easter Creek over the weekend. Automated detection systems alerted workers, who isolated the pipeline to stop the leak. Environmental sampling is now underway to assess the impact. The company says remediation will follow.
