Greater Sudbury has been named one of Canada's best locations for economic competitiveness and business growth by Site Selection Magazine's annual ranking. The city recorded nearly $600 million in construction permits across various sectors in 2025. Sudbury is the only northern community to make the Top 20 list, alongside Toronto, Halifax, Vancouver and others.
