A man has pleaded guilty to attempted murder for attacking his 16-year-old girlfriend with a sword in Haileybury. Phillipe Rivard Gagnon struck her with a vehicle and then assaulted her with the sword. The victim lost her left hand and suffered partial amputation of her right hand. The matter returns to court on Sept. 16.
