More than 40 Special Olympians from northern Ontario are competing this week at the Special Olympic Summer Games in Medicine Hat, Alta. Two of the province's three soccer teams hail from the north, including the North Bay Shadflys and the Thunder Bay Thunder Wolves. Athletes from nine communities, ranging from New Liskeard to Dryden, are taking part in track and field, bocce, powerlifting, ten-pin bowling and swimming.
