New Hydro One transmission line aims to boost northern Ontario growth
Hydro One is building a new 500-kilovolt transmission line between Sudbury and Barrie. The project is expected to be in service by 2032. Officials say it will help meet an 81-per-cent increase in northern energy demand and support mining growth. The line also allows two-way power flow and includes 50/50 equity partnerships with local First Nations. Hydro One's VP of Strategic Projects and Partnerships sits down with Marina Moore to talk about the project.
