Northern Ontario wildfires now account for roughly one-fifth of all active blazes burning across Canada today. There are 891 active fires nationwide, including 24 new ones reported in the past 24 hours. So far this year, 3,639 wildfires have consumed nearly three million hectares—an area almost half the size of New Brunswick.
