Extreme heat and wildfire smoke are creating hazy conditions across northeastern Ontario. Humidity is trapping smoke particles, giving the sky a yellowish hue. A heat alert is in effect as the humidex nears 40. Air quality is now high-risk in some areas and residents are urged to hydrate, find cool relief and check on vulnerable neighbours.
