The Dawson Island Preserve, east of Sault Ste. Marie, has doubled in size after a land donation. The Central Algoma Land Trust now protects 250 metres of St. Joseph’s Channel shoreline, named E.K. and Betty Welles Point. The preserve hosts 184 documented species.
