A 45-year-old River Valley man faces impaired driving charges after being stopped by West Nipissing Ontario Provincial Police on May 29.

In a news release June 2, police said officers were conducting a RIDE program on Highway 64 at 7:45 p.m.

In addition to impaired driving offences, the man was also charged with drug possession, driving while suspended, driving an unsafe vehicle and driving without insurance.

“The operator was also given a 90-day licence suspension while the vehicle was impounded for seven days,” police said in the release.

The man is set to appear in provincial court Sept. 3 in North Bay.
