A Thunder Bay Police Service investigation has resulted in several charges against a 50-year-old local man following a series of online reports made to police. Investigation spanned more than a month According to police, the first report was received Aug. 1, regarding mischief at a residence in the Arthur Street West area. Then, on Aug. 5, police received another report of mischief, this time in the Price Arthur Boulevard area. Further reports followed on Aug. 12 for mischief in the Fort William Road area and on Aug. 18 for mischief and a theft in the Donald Street East area. On Aug. 21, police received another report for the Fort William Road area, this time regarding both mischief and a theft. Additional reports followed on Aug. 25 for a theft in the Lillie Street North area and on Aug. 31 for two cases of mischief in the Selkirk Street North area. On Sept. 2, police received another report regarding mischief in the Arthur Street West area followed by a report on Sept. 7 regarding an attempted theft in the Wiley Street area. “A review of security footage led to a suspect being identified,” police said in a news release regarding all the incidents. Suspect charged On Sept. 9, officers located the suspect in the Vickers Street North area and took him into custody without incident. As a result of the investigations, the man has been charged with four counts of theft, nine counts of mischief and nine counts of failing to comply with a probation order. “The accused was remanded into custody following their first court appearance,” said police.
