A 44-year-old man has been charged with assault, weapons possession and criminal harassment following incidents in North Bay last weekend. The first took place Feb. 22 near McGibbon Street when someone approached their vehicle and threw a snow shovel at him while they were driving up the road. The following day, the same man was again driving in the area and saw that the same person who had thrown the snow shovel was again in the area. “The accused approached the victim’s vehicle and began yelling at the victim before leaving the area,” North Bay police said in a news release Thursday. Erratic behaviour “Police attended the area and located the accused in a nearby park, where he was behaving in an erratic manner. After a brief foot pursuit, the accused was arrested.” The victim does not know the accused, police said, and didn’t sustain any physical injuries. The accused in this incident was held in custody pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
