A 42-year-old man has been charged following reports this week of broken glass on Wellington Street East in Sault Ste. Marie.

A 911 call came in at 1 a.m. about mischief in the area, police said in a news release.

“An investigation revealed the accused had thrown a rock through the windshield of a vehicle and through a window of a building, causing damage,” police said.

“Officers located the accused several hours later in the 600 block of Albert Street East. They were arrested.”

He was charged with mischief over $5,000 and was released on an undertaking, with a court date of Aug. 18.
