Sault police look to identify suspect Canadian Tire robbery

Needle-wielding thief sought by Sault police

Sault police are investigating a robbery from the beginning of the month.

According to police, an unknown man attended the Canadian Tire store on McNabb Street on Nov.1.

“The male was observed by store security concealing two items valued at $90. The male attempted to exit the store and when confronted he produced a needle threatening the security staff,” said officials with Crime Stoppers of Sault Ste. Marie & Algoma District in a news release.

“The male then fled the store.”

Portions of the incident were captured by video surveillance cameras and police and Crime Stoppers are requesting the public’s assistance with identifying the suspects.

“Do you recognize this individual?” asked Brian Lester, a director for local Crime Stoppers, in a related online video.

Anyone with information about the incident or the identity of the suspects is asked to contact Sault police or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
