Two people are facing drug trafficking charges after a search warrant was executed at a residence in the Town of Parry Sound late last month. Ontario Provincial Police and the Anishinabek Police Service executed the drug warrant on Feb. 25 at a home on Miller Street. “(During) a search of the residence, officers seized a quantity of drugs suspected to be crack cocaine with an estimated street value of $1,200,” police said in a release. In addition to the drugs, investigators seized more than $3,000 in cash, as well as cellphones and other items consistent with drug trafficking. A 17-year-old from Grand Valley, Ont., and a 44-year-old local man have both been charged with drug trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime. “The youth who cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on March 25,” said OPP. The 44-year-old accused is scheduled to appear before the same court on April 16.
