OPP report 40 collisions in two weeks on Parry Sound area roads

Provincial police are urging heightened driver caution after responding to 40 motor vehicle collisions in just two weeks on roadways in the West Parry Sound area.

Ontario Provincial Police issued the warning on social media last week, citing changing road and weather conditions as a significant factor.

The advisory outlined several key safety measures for motorists, including:

• adjusting speed to match current road conditions,
• increasing following distance behind other vehicles,
• clearing all snow and ice from vehicles before driving,
• staying focused and avoiding distractions and
• never driving while impaired.

“Help reduce collisions in our community by driving with extra caution,” said OPP.

“Drive safe,” added OPP Const. Brandon Charlebois.
