One person has been charged with attempted murder following an incident that left another individual with serious injuries in the Town of Kearney, north of Hunstville, on Friday afternoon. Ontario Provincial Police and Parry Sound District Paramedic Services responded to a report of an individual in medical distress at a residence on Park Road at about 4 p.m. on Feb. 27. “Upon arrival, officers located one person with injuries consistent with a stabbing,” the OPP said in a news release Sunday. The injured individual was transported by paramedics to hospital for treatment. Investigation leads to charges As a result of the investigation, a 22-year-old local man has been charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault. The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court in Parry Sound on March 2. The investigation into the incident is ongoing. “The Almaguin Highlands crime unit is continuing the investigation under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch,” said police.
