Ontario Provincial Police say a Kenora resident is facing charges following a drug trafficking investigation in the city. On Sept. 15, OPP charged a 37-year-old local resident and seized suspected fentanyl, opioid pills and an imitation firearm as a result of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation, OPP said in the release. Items seized by police Police said the investigation led to the seizure of: Charges laid As a result, the accused was charged with three drug trafficking offences, possession of an imitation weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order and possession of proceeds obtained by crime. The accused was held pending a bail hearing on Sept. 16. Police seek public assistance OPP used the incident to remind the public that anyone with information regarding illegal drug activity is encouraged to call the Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122 or contact Crime Stoppers anonymously.
