A northern Ontario city is sharing the love this Valentine’s Day with some cheeky cards featuring some self-deprecating humour. Katerina Beard, a human resources specialist who works for the City of Timmins, came up with the idea after seeing a few other municipalities make their own cards. The city posted its cards on social media Friday morning and received a great response from residents, communications coordinator Amanda Dyer told CTVNewsNorthernOntario.ca. “Need a last minute valentine? Send one of these to someone you love,” the city said in its post. Two of the endearing cards are very specific to Timmins, referencing construction projects like the new Golden Manor retirement home and the Connecting Link road construction: The remaining five in the set are relatable no matter which city you live in: “We’re happy to share some self-deprecating humour, and a little love this Valentine’s Day,” Dyer said. She added people seem to be appreciating the levity the cards bring.
