A northern Ontario man is celebrating a major lottery win after scoring a $250,000 top prize with an instant game. Peter Lafreniere of the Greater Sudbury community of Hanmer struck it rich playing Big Time Cash Instant (Game #2435), a $10 lottery scratch ticket with odds of winning any prize at 1 in 3.60. Big Time Cash offers players a chance at prizes ranging from $10 up to the $250,000 grand prize. Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) did not release any details on Lafreniere’s plans for his windfall, and CTV News was unable to reach him for comment. The winning ticket was purchased at Speedy Lotto on Old Highway 69 in the Hanmer Valley Shopping Centre, OLG confirmed in a news release. Play responsibly “OLG supports safe play and wants to keep the fun in the game,” said OLG. “That’s why OLG is proud to be a leader in promoting responsible gambling with our globally recognized Playsmart program.” Playsmart offers information on gambling games.
