A resident of Hamilton won the dream home in an annual Sudbury draw that benefits the Sudbury chapter of the Canadian Hard of Hearing Association. In addition to a home at 65 Teravista Way built by SLV Homes in the South End of Sudbury, the top prize also includes a 2026 Hyundai Elantra Essential from Sudbury Hyundai, furnishings by Ashley Homestore and appliances by Bianco’s Supercenter. The prize package was worth more than $1 million. The winner has the option of taking the home or $750,000 in cash. The draw was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday and was made by Josh and Coop from Pure Country. The event was streamed live on their Facebook page. A Thunder Bay resident won the 50/50 draw, worth $282,000. Other prizes include $5,000 in cash and a $5,000 grocery gift card from Your Independent Grocer & Valu-mart; a $3,000 grocery gift card, also courtesy of Your Independent Grocer & Valu-mart; as well as draws for $1,000 Home Hardware gift cards and $1,000 Giant Tiger gift cards. All money raised from the dream home draws supports the Sudbury chapter of the Canadian Hard of Hearing Association and stays in northeastern Ontario. Ticket sales ended last month. Each ticket was $20. “Together, we’ve amplified awareness, fostered inclusion and empowered individuals with hearing loss across northeastern Ontario,” the association said. “Whether it’s advocating for better resources, providing support, or celebrating the achievements of our communities, we remain dedicated to ensuring everyone’s voice is heard -- loud and clear.”
