Thunder Bay police charged two people after cocaine and cash valued at more than $150,000 were seized by officers who executed a search warrant. The suspects, both from the Greater Toronto-area, were taken into custody and police recovered more than $90,000 in cash, along suspected cocaine as a result of a drug trafficking investigation. “Search warrants were obtained and executed on the afternoon of Thursday, Nov. 5, in the area of Court Street South,” the Thunder Bay Police Service said police in a news release Friday. “A male suspect was located inside a vehicle. When approached by officers, the suspect attempted to run away but was arrested after a brief foot pursuit... (the) female suspect was located within a Court Street South residence and was arrested without incident.” Police said officers seized nearly 325 grams of cocaine with an estimated street value of $65,000 and $91,000 cash. A 24-year-old Scarborough man and 26-year-old Toronto woman are each charged with drug trafficking and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime. The accused were remanded into custody following an initial court appearance.
