A Thunder Bay resident has been charged with impaired driving and dangerous operation following a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Memorial Avenue and Central Avenue. Police said officers were dispatched to the area at about 7:20 p.m. on Oct. 4. “On scene, officers located a pickup truck and minivan with severe damage,” the Thunder Bay Police Service said in a news release. One of the drivers was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Police did not indicate the extent of the injuries of the individual sent to hospital nor did they state which vehicle they were driving. The intersection of Memorial Avenue and Central Avenue was closed for several hours. “The investigation into the matter remains ongoing,” police said Monday. Charges laid As a result of the investigation, one driver was charged with impaired driving and dangerous operation. “The unnamed accused’s charges have not been read in court as they have been released under an undertaking with a future court date,” said police.
