A 41-year-old man is facing charges after police say he travelled more than 100 kilometres in a commercial motor vehicle missing a tire. Ontario Provincial Police said officers conducted the traffic stop at about noon Friday on Highway 17 in the Township of Lecours. In emails to CTV News this week, OPP said the transport company responsible for the tractor-trailer stopped is based out of Steinbach, Man and the driver was from Calgary, Atla. Multiple charges laid The driver was charged with operating an unsafe combination of vehicles while the company was charged with permitting the operation of an unsafe combination of vehicles. The vehicle was taken out of service. OPP reminds motorists to take a few extra minutes to inspect their vehicle before hitting the road. “A quick safety check can prevent serious incidents and help ensure you and everyone else sharing the road arrive safely at your destination,” said OPP in a social media post detailing the incident.
