The search for a missing snowmobiler in northern Ontario has come to a tragic end. Police located the body of a 40-year-old Timmins resident Wednesday on Horwood Lake, about 70 kilometres west of his hometown, Ontario Provincial Police said in an update Thursday morning. The snowmobiler was reported missing around 6:30 p.m. April 20 after not returning at the expected time. The man’s body was found two and a half weeks later by members of the OPP underwater search and recovery unit, who were assisted by the northeast region emergency response team. An autopsy is scheduled for a later date.
