Three people, including two from Toronto, are facing drug trafficking charges after a search warrant led to the seizure of suspected cocaine, fentanyl and more than $5,000 in cash from a Thunder Bay home. The Thunder Bay Police Service executed the warrant at a residence on Gemstone Drive on July 7, following an investigation into alleged drug trafficking. “Officers located three suspects within the residence. All three were arrested and taken into custody,” police said in a news release. Authorities seized quantities of suspected cocaine and fentanyl, along with drug paraphernalia. “The estimated value of drugs seized is $311,000,” said authorities. As a result, a 24-year-old and a 26-year-old, both from Toronto, and a 39-year-old Thunder Bay woman each face two drug trafficking charges and a third charge for possession of property obtained by crime. Thunder Bay police noted that the investigation was assisted by the Ontario Provincial Police. The accused appeared in court on Tuesday and were remanded into custody with future court dates scheduled.
