STOCKHOLM, Sweden - Swedish streaming music service Spotify says it is launching operations in Germany.

Spotify says it is going live in Germany Tuesday with its service, which gives users access to music on computers for free as long as they listen to a few 15-second ads.

The company also offers a computer-only version that strips out the ads for C4.99 ($6.55) a month, or a service that can be used on mobile devices including iPhones and Android-powered devices for C9.99 a month.

The service has previously been available in 12 countries, including the U.S., U.K., France and Spain. It has 10 million active users, including 3 million of whom who pay for its service.
