SASKATOON - A murder trial has been delayed for the man accused of shooting two Mounties during a high-speed chase in central Saskatchewan.

A month-long jury trial for Curtis Dagenais was set to begin next week in North Battleford Court of Queen's Bench. But a release from the Saskatchewan Law Courts says a change of venue application is to be heard instead on Sept. 17.

Constables Robin Cameron and Marc Bourdages were shot during the chase along country roads near Spiritwood in July 2006.

They died nine days later in hospital.

Dagenais, 43, faces two counts of first-degree murder and a charge of attempting to murder a third officer.
