Parts of Quebec could see southwesterly winds of up to 90 km/h on Friday, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC). Areas that could be affected include Greater Montreal, Drummondville and Bois-Francs. “Local utility outages are possible,” ECCC notes, adding that winds are expected to be strongest on Friday afternoon and evening. The agency warns that “damages are expected.” “High-sided vehicles will be pushed around by the wind. Secure loose objects,” it said. This comes as a winter storm that brought traffic chaos and arctic-like temperatures to the Prairies makes its way into Ontario and Quebec, bringing with it up to 30 cm of snow.
