A vehicle parked in the private entrance of a residence was set aflame in Montreal’s Rivière-des-Prairies—Pointe-aux-Trembles borough early Tuesday morning. Montreal police (SPVM) received a 911 call at 2:50 a.m. about the flames on Louis-Darveau Street near Marc-Aurèle-Fortin Boulevard. “When the police arrived on the scene, they found a vehicle on fire, while the Montreal Fire Department was on its way,” said Caroline Chèvrefils, a spokesperson with Montreal police. “Some residents were evacuated as a preventative measure.” Some incendiary materials were found on site. Though there was no damage to the property, the vehicle is considered a total loss. The file has been transferred to the Montreal police arson squad.
