A vehicle was set on fire in Montreal’s Rosemont-La-Petite-Patrie borough on Tuesday night. Montreal police (SPVM) received a 911 call at 10:40 p.m. about the incident on 9e Avenue near Dandurand Street. “When the police officers arrived at the scene, they located the burning vehicle,” said Caroline Chèvrefils, a spokesperson with Montreal police. “Shortly thereafter, the Montreal fire department also arrived on the scene to extinguish the fire.” The vehicle, an SUV, is considered a total loss. “Another SUV was parked nearby and sustained damage. Some incendiary material was found,” said Chèvrefils. “According to the first information, more than one suspect would have been seen setting fire to the vehicle and fleeing before the arrival of police.” The vehicle was towed for expert examination, and no arrests have been made. The file has been transferred to the Montreal police arson squad.
