A 23-year-old man is in hospital after a stabbing in Montreal’s Plateau-Mont-Royal borough early Friday morning. At 3:30 a.m., Montreal police (SPVM) officers say they were approached by a man on the corner of Saint-Laurent Boulevard and Prince-Arthur Street. “[He] reported that he had been the victim of an armed assault by a suspect who had fled the scene,” said Manuel Couture, a spokesperson with Montreal police. “The victim sustained a stab wound to the upper body.” The man was transferred to hospital, but his life is not considered to be in danger. There have been no arrests, and the investigation is ongoing.
