Quebec provincial police are investigating after a woman was found dead in a home north of Montreal on Friday. Police are not confirming the nature of the incident but Noovo Info reported that it’s being considered as a suspected femicide. Police in St-Jerome, Que. were called to a local residence Friday afternoon for a wellness check when they found the woman’s body inside. Her age and identity have not been released. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The case has since been transferred to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ). A man was also found at the scene and was taken to hospital. He is set to be questioned by investigators when his health condition permits, said SQ spokesperson Elizabeth Marquis-Guy. Forensic identification officers were also called to the scene to gather evidence. Marquis-Guy said all hypotheses are being examined as the investigation continues.
