Montreal police say a 24-year-old woman was injured overnight during an armed assault outside a bar in the Villeray—Saint-Michel—Parc-Extension borough. At around 3:15 a.m. Sunday, police received 911 calls reporting the armed assault near the intersection of 9th Avenue and Jarry Street. Police say an altercation happened outside a bar as people were leaving, which led to a collision between two vehicles. “During the incident, a man reportedly threw an object at the 24-year-old woman, striking her in the upper body. The victim sustained injuries and was transported to a hospital, however, her life is not in danger,” said police spokesperson Manuel Couture. The suspect fled the scene before police arrived. Investigators were called to the scene to better understand the circumstances surrounding armed assault as the investigation continues.
