Traffic slump prompts toll reductions on A30 Express

The A30 Express will lower its rates as of Feb. 28 after a drop in traffic in 2025.

The new rates, which will be in effect for a year, will be $2.20 per axle for Category 1 vehicles, or $4.40 per trip for a standard car. The current rate is $2.30 per axle.

For Category 2 vehicles — those 230 cm in height or more — the rate will be $3.30 per axle, down from the current $3.45.

According to A30 Express, the adjustment follows its agreement with the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, which allows rates to vary based on traffic.

The toll operator said traffic fell below 30,000 vehicles a day last year, prompting the change. It added that last year’s inflation was also taken into account.
