Police from Montreal, Toronto and Longueuil arrested seven suspects linked to four break-ins and attempted break-ins at the same address in the Southwest borough. Montreal police (SPVM) said five men and two women aged between 17 and 34 were arrested Thursday in the Saint-Laurent and Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce boroughs, as well as in Toronto and Longueuil for reports from January, March and this month. Robert-Joe Houjeily, 32, and Ayman Tibary, 22, appeared in the Montreal courthouse on Friday. The minors in the case, who can not be identified, appeared before youth court. They face charges including breaking and entering and attempted kidnapping. Three suspects were released pending the outcome of the investigation. It is the second round of arrests in the case, after three other suspects were arrested in May and June. The Jan. 28 file says a home invasion took place at around 7:30 p.m. at the residence. “An individual reportedly arrived at a residence claiming to be delivering a parcel,” the SPVM said. “When the residents opened the door, he is said to have entered the property, followed by three accomplices, two of whom were reportedly armed with firearms. During the incident, one of the armed suspects is said to have fired a shot. One suspect was reportedly shot in the abdomen, while the resident sustained a minor injury to the arm.” Four suspects fled the scene. On March 9, two hooded individuals arrived at the same door in the afternoon “before fleeing in a vehicle after being challenged by a security guard.” Early the next morning, at around 4 a.m., and then later the next night at 11:40 p.m., masked individuals returned and tried to kick their way through the door before fleeing, police said. Then, on Oct. 7, at around 1:45 a.m., “five masked individuals broke into the property and fled in a vehicle after an alarm was triggered.” The SPVM is looking for more suspects and asks anyone who knows about the events to visit a local police station or call the Montreal Info-Crime line at 514-393-1133.
