Drivers heading to and from the South Shore or the airport should note that work is set to start next week on the Saint-Pierre Interchange. The Quebec Transport Ministry (MTQ) said that crews will work to reinforce the support piers and do structural inspections in the interchange starting Monday (Oct. 26) and will run until the winter. Work will resume in the spring. There will be partial and complete closures on service roads at the interchange, so drivers should plan trips in advance. “The Ministry advises road users travelling in the area to allow extra time to reach their destination, particularly the airport,” the MTQ said in a news release. All work may be postponed due to weather or operational constraints.
