Several products sold at Montreal’s two T&T supermarkets are being recalled due to the undeclared presence of several allergens, according to Quebec’s Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPAQ). The recall affects anyone who is allergic to milk, soy, nuts, sesame, peanuts, fish, eggs, sulphites, crustaceans or mollusks. “In addition to the allergens already declared, these products contain or may contain these allergenic substances without this being mentioned on the label,” MAPAQ states. The products affected include: “They were packaged in various containers. The mini Danish pastries and winter melon pastries were sold at room temperature, while the brioches and steamed bread were sold refrigerated,” MAPAQ notes. The warning is being issued as a precautionary measure. “Affected individuals who have any of these products in their possession are advised not to consume them,” the agency said. “They should return them to the store where they were purchased or throw them away.” MAPAQ adds that there have been no reported cases of allergic reactions associated with the consumption of the products. “As soon as we received MAPAQ’s notice, we immediately removed all affected products from our stores,” confirmed the supermarket. “All kitchen products currently on shelves have updated labels indicating allergens and are safe to purchase and consume.” Anyone experiencing symptoms related to this recall is advised to consult a health care professional.
