A man from the Quebec City area is $1,000 richer today, and he’ll be $1,000 richer tomorrow, and the day after that, for the rest of his life. Michel Poulin bought his Loto-Québec ticket online for the Sept. 21 draw. The next day, his phone rang while he was at work, and it changed everything for him. A Loto-Québec employee told him to sign in to his online account. He did, and there was a message congratulating him on winning the top prize. He said it took him a few moments to believe it. “Wow, I’m getting really emotional now!” he said, according to a news release from Loto-Québec. Once he hung up, he immediately called his wife and daughter to share the news. Poulin is planning to retire early and travel. “I’ll stop working next spring, for sure,” he said. He already heads south from time to time, but now he’s thinking bigger. “I’ll be able to purchase a little place there,” he said. “It’ll be a whole lot easier.”
