Quebec legislature adopts unanimous motion in support of Ukraine

While President Donald Trump is in the process of distancing his administration from Ukraine, Quebec has unanimously reiterated its support for the country that was invaded by Russia three years ago.

Premier François Legault tabled a motion in support of Ukraine on Thursday, which was adopted by all elected officials.

He said that Quebecers are in solidarity with Ukrainian resistance and that the province denounces the Russian invasion.

“We share their struggle to continue their existence as a nation,” added the premier.

Legault also made it clear that Quebec supports civilian, humanitarian and military aid to Ukraine.

Liberal MNA André A. Morin insisted that Russia is indeed the aggressor in this war.

On Feb. 24, 2022, Russia launched an offensive to occupy Ukraine and overthrow President Volodymyr Zelensky.
