The Coroner’s office has announced a public inquiry into three deaths that occurred in recent months in the construction industry. The coroner’s inquest will focus specifically on the deaths of Médrik Lincourt, which occurred on Aug. 4, 2025, in Terrebonne, Mario Ross, which occurred on April 4, 2025, in Drummondville, and Vito Fundaro, which occurred on June 19, 2024, in Montreal. Coroner Andrée Kronström will seek to determine the causes and circumstances surrounding these deaths and to develop a broader reflection on current safety practices in the industry. The Coroner’s Office said that, “if necessary,” she will make recommendations with a view to preventing further deaths in similar circumstances. The dates of the hearings are not yet known. The construction industry is known to be particularly prone to workplace accidents, whether fatalities or occupational injuries.
