A planned Hydro-Québec outage beginning Sunday will affect approximately 60,000 people in Québec City, L’Ancienne-Lorette and Saint-Gabriel-de-Valcartier. The outage is scheduled from 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 20, until 6:30 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 21, to allow major work at the Neufchâtel substation in Québec City. “This work must be completed before winter to prevent a more significant equipment failure that could result in a longer outage affecting a larger number of customers,” Hydro-Québec wrote in a press release. “Multiple teams have been mobilized, and the work has been carefully planned and coordinated to minimize the duration of the interruption.” According to the Crown corporation, it notified affected customers by telephone of the planned outage.
