It’s been nearly one year since 22-year-old Liam Toman went missing after leaving a bar in Mont-Tremblant Village. His parents have combed over every frame of the surveillance video of the moment he left the bar, Le P’tit Caribou, at 3 a.m. on Feb. 2, 2025, in the direction of his hotel nearby. But there is no other video to fill in the blanks of what happened afterwards. “We would have loved to have additional video surveillance to track Liam down within those last steps because he just disappears by the side of the hotel,” said Liam’s father, Chris Toman. The family is making a presentation to the Mont-Tremblant Council Monday night, asking for more video surveillance of the area. “We don’t want this to happen to any other family again,” said Liam’s mother, Kathleen Toman. The Tomans have made more than a dozen trips from Ontario to the ski resort in the last year in an effort to aid in the police search for their son and look for clues that may explain what happened to him. They have also set up pop-ups and handed out wristbands with his name and a number to call. They say the company that owns the village has been cooperating with them to raise awareness of his disappearance in the hope that someone has information or video from the time he went missing. Lara Toman, Liam’s stepmother, said they’ve also met with the new mayor of Mont-Tremblant, Pascal De Bellefeuille, to keep the search alive. “It was an opportunity to discuss a lot of the issues, and he agrees it’s time to fix forward,” she said. In March, Liam’s wallet was found in one of the parking lots. After extensive searches, his parents no longer believe he is in the village area. “Our family believes Liam isn’t here, but the answers are,” said Chris Toman. Quebec provincial police says its investigation is ongoing. “Right now, we don’t have any credible information saying something criminal has happened, but it’s not excluded, because everything is on the table,” said spokesperson Marc Tessier. Tessier said police will set up a command post on Jan. 31 in the Mont-Tremblant Village. Sun Youth is providing a $50,000 reward for information that breaks the case. Anyone who has seen Toman or has information that could help investigators should call 1-800-659-4264. Meanwhile, the Tomans plan on continuing their efforts to find Liam. “We are coming back and searching in the spring,” said Kathleen Toman. “We’re not stopping.”
