Two dead, third injured in REM train collision in Brossard

Two men are dead and another is injured after they were struck by a REM light-rail train on Montreal's South Shore on Nov. 22, 2025.

Provincial police (SQ) are investigating after three young men were struck by a Réseau express métropolitain (REM) train, leaving two dead in Brossard early Saturday morning.

The SQ says a 911 call came in around 3 a.m. reporting the collision at the Du Quartier station after individuals trespassed on the tracks.

“A group of men were walking in the area and attempted to cross lanes on Highway 10, including the REM train tracks, to get to the other side of the highway,” an SQ spokesperson said.

“A train was approaching and the individuals were struck,” the spokesperson said.

A 19-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. Two others were taken to hospital in critical condition. On Sunday, the SQ confirmed that a 22-year-old man had also died.

A second 19-year-old man is now out of danger.

In a statement, REM operator Pulsar offered its condolences and support to the families.

“Pulsar is actively cooperating with emergency services and authorities to shed full light on the circumstances of the event,” the statement read.

REM service between Brossard and Panama stations has now resumed. Trains are running normally between Panama and Deux-Montagnes stations. .

SQ investigators are still analyzing the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
