A new bus route connecting the Réseau express métropolitain (REM) Des Sources station to Montreal’s Trudeau International Airport is on its way. Bus route 815 will be offered from June 17 to Oct. 19, all day in accordance with the REM schedule, and will transport commuters to and from both locations in under 20 minutes. There will be departures every 15 minutes during peak hours and will run at an average frequency of 30 minutes during regular periods. According to a news release from the airport, this bus route is an “efficient and congestion-free transportation” option during construction in the area. “While we await the commissioning of the REM to the airport, this link tangibly strengthens access to YUL for travellers,“ wrote Julien Hurel, vice-president REM, at CDPQ Infra. “It is part of a complementary approach to the network, as we actively continue working to advance this latest branch of the REM.” The bus route follows the opening of the new branch of the REM in the West Island last month, with stations at Des Sources, Fairview–Pointe-Claire, Kirkland, and Anse-à-l’Orme. Following the opening of the REM’s South Shore in 2023 and its northern branch two years later, the airport branch is expected to open next year.
