A motorcyclist in his 60s is in critical condition after driving off the road Sunday afternoon on the Charest East Expressway in Quebec City. The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) reports that alcohol and speed may have been contributing factors in the accident. Emergency responders were reportedly called to the scene around 5:30 p.m., explains SQ spokesperson Geneviève Bruneau. She explains that the motorcyclist, who was travelling in the left lane, may have attempted to change lanes at the last minute to take the ramp toward the Henri IV North Expressway, which may have caused him to veer off the road. Bruneau noted that the victim was unconscious when emergency responders arrived. Paramedics reportedly administered first aid before he was transported to a hospital.
