A 44-year-old woman was killed in her apartment in Montreal’s Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension borough on Saturday afternoon. Montreal police were called to an apartment on 9th Avenue, near Boulevard Crémazie East, at 1:45 p.m. Upon arrival, police found the woman’s body. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Police also found a 51-year-old man with serious upper-body injuries. He was transported to the hospital and remains in critical condition. Police said he is considered a suspect. Montreal police confirmed that the two were in an intimate partner relationship and said the woman’s body showed signs of violence. A security perimeter has been established at the scene as police conduct their investigation.
