Montreal weekend road closures: Ville-Marie tunnel not open

Those planning on driving in and around Montreal on the weekend should know that construction will result in road and route closures, including on the Ville-Marie Expressway in the tunnel.

Planning trips in advance is advised.

Ville-Marie and Viger Tunnels (Route-136)

• From Friday at 11:30 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m., the Ville-Marie Expressway (R-136) east will be closed between Exit 4 (Montagne, Saint-Jacques streets) and the on-ramp from Atateken Street.
• Starting at 11 p.m., access from Notre-Dame / de la Cathédrale streets and A-10 West (Bonaventure) / Robert-Bourassa Boulevard will also be closed by default.

• From Friday at 11 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m., the Ville-Marie Expressway (R-136) west will be closed between the start of the highway (at Panet Street) and the access from Lucien-L’Allier Street.
• Starting at 10:30 p.m., access from Hôtel-de-Ville Ave. / Sanguinet St. and Saint-Antoine East Street will also be closed by default.

Honoré Mercier Bridge (R-138) - CANCELLED

• Roadwork on the bridge has been cancelled for the weekend.

Cavendish Boulevard

• From Friday at 10 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m., Cavendish Boulevard northbound will be closed at the intersection with Dalton Road southbound.

Highways 40 and 640 (Terrebonne)

• From Friday at 9 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m. exit 50 (Montée des Pionniers) will be closed on Highway 640 East.
• At the same time, one of two lanes on Highway 640 will be closed between the A-40/A-640 interchange and Exit 50 (Montée des Pionniers).
• At the same time, Exit 96-W (A-640 west, Laval, Saint-Eustache) on Highway 40 westbound will be closed.

Réseau express métropolitain (REM)

• Scheduled work on the network will result in a delayed start on weekends starting on June 6 and on July 1.
